                   Lake Louise Community Non-Profit Corporation

                                          June 29, 2009

NOTICE

The Annual Meeting for 2009 will be at the Point Lodge, 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 18th.

Emergency Response Building.  Progress is being made on planning and permits.  The Mat-Su Borough will be present at the annual meeting to give an update and report.

The fire equipment grant is mostly complete.  Maps will be available to show where the storage huts are located.  The Volunteer Fire Department needs more responders.  If you are interested, please sign up.

The Community has been given a Revenue Sharing Grant, to be used for additional fire equipment and furnishings for the building.

The First Responders, ETTs, have just completed another 40 hours of training, with 2 new members joining the team.  Judy Glafke and Jessemiah "Pete" Black.  Judy Bertuca, EMT II, will be giving a CPR class later this fall.  All those interested should let her know.  A time and date will be selected later.

Susitna lost a cabin in a fire on June 6th.  A lot of volunteers responded with Community equipment.  We had an unfortunate event when a well meaning, but uninformed guest to the lake, tried to take charge, thus keeping the responders from helping.  All responders that are listed on the VFD have authority to participate at a fire scene.  No agency or person can prevent them from the attack.  If you arrive at a fire and are questioned, identify yourself as a member of the VFD and go to work.  This is a good reason to sign up with the VFD.  Names are reported annually to the State Fire Marshal.

Elections will be held at the Annual Meeting to fill 2 Board positions.  Members whose terms are expiring; Gary Howard and Karen Miller.  Nominations will be accepted from the floor.  Remember, dues must be paid in order to vote.  Please check your address label to see if your dues are paid.

We had a computer crash and have reconstructed the membership info.  It is our hope we have everything correct.  When you check in at the annual meeting, please take a moment and check our records.
